Description
Haughmond Abbey is an ancient Augustine ruined monastery just outside of Shrewsbury in Shropshire, founded in 1100 AD. It has some very interesting remains, and additions, most especially the arch way, seen in this painting, which breaks the horizon line over looking the neighbouring town of Shrewsbury. This site gave me plenty of tactile anomalies to play with within the painting. Painted in ink on watercolour paper (300gsm Bockingford Paper)
