Description
This painting was part of an experimental process to see how smaller stages of a much larger project looked as completed paintings, in their own right. Derived from five out of the twenty five paintings that will be used in the final image of the larger project. Seen here is the second tier of a five tier project these portraits are derived from. It is made up of five different studies from the sitter, seen from above, looking down at the sitter. So as to accentuate the foreshortening of the forehead and nose. There is a large difference to the layout of this composition, and the one I am using of the same portraits here, in the larger project image, in that here the portraits all arch round in quite a harmonious way, accentuating the protrusion of the central portrait.
