Description
This image is a composite of multiple gel plate monoprints of my hands, with two same medium sized plates. Using a variety of resist techniques to establish the hand prints into the final image. With the lighter tone/colours of the hands I used a transparent oil pastel, so when I scraped away the excess layer of paint on top of the oil pastel, because it was transparent it reveals the paper, or an earlier print layer.
The title is derived from the cold/hot aspect of the colours used to illustrate the hands in the print, and an allusion to the “Third Law of Thermodynamics” tending towards entropy in an enclosed environment, not unlike creativity.
